Meet MPP Silvia Gualtieri

Silvia Gualtieri is a proud lifelong resident of Mississauga and serves as the MPP for Mississauga East–Cooksville. She is the Parliamentary Assistant to the Solicitor General and a member of the Standing Committee on Justice Policy.

Deeply committed to keeping families safe, Silvia is passionate about strengthening Ontario’s public safety system and supporting the dedicated men and women who protect our province. She is a firm believer in collaboration between law enforcement, community organizations, and government to build stronger, safer communities.

She brings the same dedication and strong work ethic to public service that has guided her throughout her career.

Silvia began her professional journey as an educator with the Dufferin-Peel Separate School Board, teaching students from kindergarten through the elementary grades. She later entered the insurance industry as Executive Assistant at Gualtieri Insurance and Financial Services. To further strengthen her skills in leadership and governance, she earned an MBA, building on her commitment to serve her community with knowledge and integrity.

Her longstanding record of volunteerism and community involvement has earned her deep respect. A recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, Silvia has served as president of the Catholic Women’s League, dedicated many hours to projects at Vita Manor for young women in Streetsville, supported the Children’s Choral Society of Mississauga, and helped raise funds for the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. She was also Honourary Chair of The Gatehouse, worked with the Women’s Shelter Committee in Brampton, and was a member of Zonta International.

A fifth-generation Mississauga resident, Silvia and her husband, Dr. Angelo Gualtieri, are proud of their deep family roots in the community. They share the joy of three daughters, two grandsons, and two granddaughters. She is proud to continue her family’s legacy of service and commitment to Mississauga’s bright future.
